Chasing the sunset,
I take a last inhale of her salty breath,
I admire at her velvet rolls,
and put the keys in the ignition

How odd it is to be anything at all

As I stare through the thick glass, my eyes focus revealing a flurry of infant sea horses. The twirl and flirt like shy teenagers at a dark dance. After a bit, I realize that I' not the only one watching as I notice a dozen or so pupils staring back into mine. Which leads me to consider who is the spectacle, those in the tank or outside it?

the fair

We no longer fight over ferris wheel seats, or beg for cotton candys. We look different and the fair looks different. But still, we hold hands and smile.
